A joint session ZPC and KMKM to strengthen the safety of the sea.

The Zanzibar Port Authority (ZPC) today Wednesday, 21 January 2026, has held a joint meeting with the Traffic Prevention Force (KMKM) in order to strengthen strategic cooperation in matters of maritime security and operation of port operations.

The meeting has been led by the Director General of ZPC, Brother Akif Ali Khamis, on the ZPC side, and Commodore Azana Hassan Msingiri on the KMKM side. The discussions are aimed at strengthening joint coordination and laying the basis for the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions.

Proposed collaboration areas include:
1. Maritime Security
2. Diving, Search and Rescue
3. Evacuation and Emergency Response (Emergency Rescue)
4.Mfumo wa Vessel Traffic Services (VTS)
Infrastructure and security of sea side areas

This collaboration aims to enhance security, efficiency of port operations and protect the National interests in the coastal areas of Zanzibar.
